What is better to buy? A 2002 Suzuki ignis 3 door hatch or a 1996 Saab 900 s tourer Convertible? Same price.?

I'm a uni student so I need a car that is very fuel efficient, a car that won't cost too much to repair ( Saab has just had new engine and clutch installed) and a car that I can drive comfortably for quite a few more years. Please help me decide :)
