Closet organization ideas?

My boyfriend is moving in with me in a few weeks and I don't have much extra space for his stuff. My closet is very small; only big enough for one person to stand in with arms at the sides. It has two shelves and two bars only about 1 1/2 feet long each. How can I organize our stuff and make everything fit comfortably?
