Should I buy a used 4runner or used Tacoma?

I was wondering what would be a better truck to get for both off road and on road use. I like both but it is a hard decision. I like the 4runner a lot but i heard it looks too much like a family truck with the size and the space. I like the Tacoma too but it can only comfortably hold 2 or 3 people and the lack of weight in the back might not be good for snow. This is for a teenage guy
